[Step1]
The height of the chair should allow you to relax
your upper arms by the sides of your body and
bend your elbows to approximately 90 degrees.
Your forearms should be level with or slightly
above the keyboard. It is common for the keyboard to be near waist height.
[Step 2]
The backrest of the chair should be adjustable in height and placed as a support for the lower to middle back. It should also be adjustable in forward and backward tilt to accommodate different tasks. Make sure your hips are all the way back in the chair when adjusting the backrest.
[Step 3]
The seat pan of the chair should be adjustable to an angle of 6 degrees forward and backward tilt. A 90 degree angle at the hip is most commonly used. The size of the seat should be proportional to the individual. The seat length should allow a 3 finger gap at the back of the knee. A sliding seat is a useful feature to fit a variety of people.
